7117 - The OT/PPP logical port has detected an invalid serial protocol.

1.  Make sure that the correct port is selected for the modem and that the modem is not plugged into the wrong port (ie printer port.).

2.  Delete the modem prefs and reinstall the modem.

3.  Make sure appletalk, fax software, or anything else that might use the port is not active.

4.  Reboot.
